From Sketch to Poster: The Creative Process Behind Our ‘Infrared Animal’ Collection

Imagine walking into a room and noticing a fox glowing in fiery reds, or a bat shining in electric blues. Not just photographs, but animals reimagined as radiant, almost futuristic beings. That’s the magic behind our Infrared Animal Collection.

This series of posters was born out of one simple question: What if we could see the hidden energy of nature? The answer became a playful yet powerful collection that blends wildlife, technology, and design into art that turns any wall into a conversation starter.

In this blog, we’ll take you behind the scenes of how these glowing creatures came to life, step by step, from the first sketches to the final wall-ready posters. After all, this is what we call BREATHING LIFE INTO THE STILL.

Step 1: Gathering Inspiration

Every collection begins with a spark. For the Infrared Animals, inspiration came from the fascinating look of thermal cameras and their ability to reveal warmth and energy in glowing colors. We combined that with our love for wildlife photography and modern poster design.

Two posters featuring thermal imaging graphics of a Skunk: one large black-framed and one small white-framed, both showing the animal in bright warm colors and leaning on a concrete floor.

Instead of sticking with traditional nature prints, we explored how infrared patterns could make familiar animals feel new, exciting, and almost otherworldly. Moodboards, quick sketches, and plenty of digital experiments shaped the foundation of the project.

Step 2: Choosing the Right Animals

Once we knew the style, the next step was selecting animals with strong shapes and character. A fox with its striking tail, a hare with elegant long ears, or even a fluffy chicken, each creature had to stand out even when transformed into glowing colors.

A digital poster screen mounted on an industrial hand truck with orange handles, displaying a thermal-imaging style image of a stoat or similar mammal. The animal is bright yellow and red against a dark blue background, with a temperature scale on the right and temperature readings. The hand truck is on a shiny concrete floor against a white brick wall.

We wanted variety too: flying, running, perching. This mix adds rhythm and storytelling when the posters are displayed together, whether in a gallery wall or as single statement pieces.

Step 3: Designing the Infrared Effect

Here’s where the magic happened. Using digital design tools, we layered bold reds, yellows, and blues to mimic the glow of infrared vision. The trick was balance: keep the animals recognizable while enhancing their textures with a futuristic touch.

Fur became fiery, feathers shimmered, and eyes glowed with subtle intensity. The result: animals that feel alive on the wall, more like radiant presences than static images.

For interiors, this means art that instantly catches the eye and energizes a room, perfect for modern spaces that crave both color and originality.

Step 4: Adding Attributes and Character

We didn’t just want to create glowing animals; we wanted to give them personality. That’s why each poster comes with playful attributes, like “Fluffy-Tailed Red Fox” or “Agile Fluffy Red Squirrel.”

Inspired by radar screens and scanner interfaces, we added subtle graphic frames and text elements. This detail makes every piece feel like a snapshot from a high-tech exploration, adding depth and storytelling to the design.

Step 5: Making Posters Ready for Your Walls

Finally, the digital designs were transformed into prints you can hang at home. Every color, every detail had to be crisp and true, so we carefully prepared each file for printing on high-quality paper.

The goal was simple: create posters that feel bold and original, yet versatile enough to style in different interiors, from minimalist living rooms to cozy, eclectic corners.

With the right frame or gallery wall combination, these designs don’t just fill empty walls, they energize them.

Why These Posters Stand Out

The Infrared Animal Collection connects with people who want more than decoration. Each piece is:

  • Original: Distinctive designs you won’t find in mass-produced décor.
  • Expressive: Posters that tell stories and spark conversation.
  • Versatile: Works as a single statement piece or as part of a gallery wall.
  • Atmospheric: Adds warmth, energy, and personality to any space.
